Human Progress, Measured
In order for humanity to flourish, we need a way to agree on the future. It is not a simple task to accomplish because our perception of the world is infinitely complex. Cause-Oriented Efficiency is the first step to finding commonality within our understanding of the universe. By identifying the Information Gap and Problem Solution relationship, the methodology churns out an easy to understand Score and Status by using Cases, Weights and Factors.

When one speaks of human progress, there is an ultimate goal in mind. Something which could be theoretically achieved. This utopian idea is what our consciousness allows us to perceive and imagine. It also allows for endless interpretations of our collective experience and which ‘utopia’ is imagined. A human progress methodology is a tool to help us critique our current progress and approaches to progress through organization and documentation. By continually breaking down our understanding of these complex problem-solution relationships, we will become more aware of the efficiency of the progress as a whole.
We should not give too much credit to the methodology. It is simply a disciplinary tool which forces us to self critique. It is also just a way to capture our current efforts. Human progress and flourishing would not exist without the individuals who dedicate themselves to these efforts.
The (or any) methodology like COE will help to accelerate humanity’s potential. Simplifying the complex problem-solution relationships is one part. But also, our collective agreement in using this methodology to leave our biases behind (or attempt to).
There is not an easy, one-solution-fits-all approach. In a free society, people are responsible for creating their own future. The individual works within the group to achieve consensus based on the provable nature of their shared experience. This is not an immediately approachable subject, so it is most certainly left up to scrutiny. However, with the methodology and community of Cause-Oriented Efficiency, the dedication to a better future could allow us to bypass areas of uncertainty, through a share goal of human flourishing. To answer the question more directly, in order for progress and flourishing to work in a free society where individual sovereignty is upheld as the most critical human right, education is the most effective means to ensuring everyone is on the same page.
At the core of Cause-Oriented Efficiency (COE), the question is answered with the efficiency score. It is calculated using the COE methodology. The methodology itself is nothing more than a system of organization or framework to organize the different facets of our shared understanding of reality and how we utilize it for our own benefit.
We do not necessarily have to agree on everything. The important part is that we use the methodology to document the disagreements in an organized, bias-free way. Cause-Oriented Efficiency does not claim to find truth. It simply documents it. Learn more about where it fits into the truth-pursuit.
At the core of the Cause-Oriented Efficiency methodology is a score. The score is based on factors and weights. Since weights exist within different contexts, the way you rank them is by using a few simple rules. Learn more here.
